Description
Scotsdale Farm, on the edge of the Niagara escarpment north of Georgetown is one of Ontario’s gems. Gited to the Province forty years ago, it welcomes visitors to a property built with loving care by Stewart and Letty Bennett. However, this is a story of more than establishing a beautiful country estate.
The Bennetts were unusual in developing one of Canada’s pre-eminent herds of Shorthorn cattle that remained at the forefront of show activity for over sixty years. At the same time they brought to Scotsdale and bred top Arabian horses from the best U.K. bloodlines when few in Eastern Canada had thought to do so.
This is a story of life in a period fast fading from today’s memories and fulfilling a dream trough industry, imagination, and determination.
