We bought Rita from Emerson Clark of Scotsdale Shorthorns as a calf, and she was, in fact, the first Shorthorn we bought.

This moderately sized, red and polled female has proven to be a carefree animal. She has produced two bulls for us, the first by Byland Gold Spear. This calf, Poplar Land Kodiak 2N, was Bull Calf Champion at Agribition in 2003. He is now owned by the Cleggett family of Saskatchewan.

Her second calf is a well-built roan bull by CR Varsity, a son of the immortal American sire, CF Trump. Rita shows a consistency in what she can produce, as her first two progeny prove by their high quality from different sires.
